Without spirit of being exhaustive, here there are some of the most prestigious prizes that the cheese factory J Aranburu has won in the last three years.

2008 Awards

  • World Cheese Awards:
    • Gold Medal: “Hard cheese with Denomination of Origin (PDO. PGI or AOC)”
    • Silver Medal: “Hard cheese produced on farm or dairy with a total output not exceeding a weekly average of 2t.”2nd place at the Euskal Herria Idiazabal Cheeses’ Championship
  • Winner of Guipúzcoa Denomination of Origin Idiazabal Cheeses Championship.
  • 3rd place in the Home-made Cheeses Competition of the Pyrenees in la Seu d’Urgell.

2007 Awards

  • World Cheese Award:
    • Silver Medal: “Smoked cured Cheeses”
    • Bronze Medal: “Hard cheese with Denomination of Origin (PDO. PGI or AOC)”
    • Bronze Medal: “Hard cheese produced on farm or dairy with a total output not exceeding a weekly average of 2t.”
  • Winner of the Denomination of Origin Idiazabal’s Cheese Competition (competing against the last 10 winners of the last years)
  • 3rd place in the Guipúzcoa Denomination of Origin Idiazabal’s Cheeses Championship.

2006 Awards

  • Winner of the Latxa sheep races Shepherds Cheese’s celebrated in Ordizia
  • Winner of Idiazabal Cheese’s Euskal Herria Championship
  • Winner of Guipúzcoa Denomination of Origin Idiazabal Cheeses Championship.
  • Bronze medal in the International Cheeses Competition in El Tirol (Austria), Käsiade.
  • “Cincho de Oro de los Premios Cincho de la Junta de Castilla y León”, in the modality of cheeses elaborated with sheep’s raw milk with among 2 and 6 moths of ripening.
  • “Cincho de Plata de los Premios Cincho de la Junta de Castilla y León”, in the modality of cheeses elaborated with sheep’s raw milk of sheep with more than 6 months of ripening.
  • Winner in the Home-made Cheeses Competition of the Pyrenees in la Seu d’Urgell.
